A new Saskatchewan Medical Association (SMA)-Ministry of Health agreement provides an incentive to physicians to purchase accessible examination tables.
The program will grant a participating physician up to $5,000 to help defray the costs of an adjustable exam table. A total of $500,000 has been set aside for the initiative.
The incentive is open to all practising physicians in Saskatchewan who are responsible for equipping their own clinics in the community.
Tables must be purchased between Feb. 22, 2019, and March 31, 2020, for a physician to qualify for funding. Physicians must provide a proof of purchase, or receipt, and complete an application form. The receipt should include the amount and date, plus verify that the item purchased was an accessible examination table.
By applying for reimbursement, physicians agree that they may be contacted by SMA Communications staff to participate in further efforts to promote the incentive to other physicians.
